Recently, the key special project of "catalytic science" of the "14th Five-Year Plan" national key research and development plan led by Southwest Chemical Research and Design Institute Co.
    , Ltd.
    - "CO2 catalytic hydrogenation and efficient synthesis of methanol" project in 2022 passed the expert review and was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology
    .

The project is led by the Southwest Academy and jointly applied
by the Dalian Institute of Chemical Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tianjin University, and the Shanghai Advanced Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The project participation is the advantage of domestic carbon dioxide catalytic conversion research and development, and relies on innovation platforms
such as the State Key Laboratory of Comprehensive Utilization of Industrial Emissions, the Joint Key Laboratory of Chemical Engineering, the State Key Laboratory of Basic Catalysis, the National Carbon One Chemical Engineering Technology Research Center, and the Beijing National Research Center for Molecular Science.
The project team is composed of more than 100 research talents in the field of catalysis, and has a solid technical foundation
in the development, in-situ characterization, catalyst scale-up and engineering development of carbon dioxide hydrogenation catalysts.

The synthesis of methanol from carbon dioxide is of great strategic significance
to realize the recycling of carbon resources.
The implementation cycle of the project is 5 years, aiming to solve the scientific problems of low-temperature activation and directional conversion of carbon dioxide to methanol, develop low-temperature and high-efficiency hydrogenation catalysts for carbon dioxide, develop catalyst scale-up preparation methods, carry out 1,000-ton pilot tests, and develop 100,000 tons/year device process software package
