researchers used inhibitors to treat it and found that altering oxygen-acetaminophen (O-GlcNAc) signals significantly affected the transcriptional expression of key genes in springing and promoted wheat flowering, which in part replaced springing. The researchers further isolated and apothesized the glycosylation modification and phosphorylation modified protein spectrum involved in springing, and found several proteins with both glycosylation modification and phosphorylation modification, and proved the important role of these two modifications in the springing process.
it is understood that the role of springing refers to the winter wheat flowering needs to go through a long period of environmental low temperature induced physiological process. Because the springing characteristics of different winter wheat varieties and their degree of adaptation to winter and spring temperature will directly affect their yield, the study of the mechanism of springing effect is of great significance to winter wheat breeding. O-GlcNAc glycosylation modification and phosphorylation modification regulate many important physiological processes in plants, but because of the dynamic regulatory relationship between the two and the difficulty of chemical identification, the regulatory mechanism for the springing effect is not clear for a long time.
