In order to better monitor infection rates, group immunity and protective immunity, as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of vaccines during and after clinical trials, there is an urgent need for a rapid test that can detect neutralizing antibodies in the new coronavirus., the current gold test standard for testing neutralizing antibodies requires the treatment of new coronaviruses in biosecurity triple-level protective laboratories, which are time-consuming and typically take 2 to 4 days to complete.neutralizing tests of a virus based on a fake virus is considered to be another method of detecting neutralizing antibodies that can be operated in biosafety secondary laboratories, but still require the use of live viruses and cells. In view of this, scientists Wang Linfa, Danielle Anderson and their colleagues at the Duke-Singapore National University School of Medicine have designed an alternative virus neutralized trial that takes only one to two hours without the use of any living viruses or cells, and can be performed in biosafety secondary laboratories (the same as the normal enzyme-linked immunosorption test). Theteam simulated the interaction of the virus with the host on the enzyme-linked immunosorption test board using the purification receptor of the viral protrusion protein binding the domain and the host cell's ACE2 receptor.this effect is inhibited by specific neutralizing antibodies in the serum of patients or animals in a manner similar to that of traditional virus neutralizing and virus-based neutralizing tests.the method can also distinguish between neutralizing antibodies and antibodies bound with RBD but not neutralizing the virus.in two different groups of patients recovering from new coronary pneumonia, the researchers validated their trials from Singapore (175 patients with new coronary pneumonia rehabilitation and 200 healthy people) and Nanjing, China (50 patients with new coronary pneumonia and 200 healthy people).researchers tested different test boards, confirming that their trial sat esctriatally different antibody responses to neo-coronapneumonia and other coronavirus infections.found that the trial reached 99.93 percent specificity and 95% to 100% sensitivity.team noted that while this alternative virus neutralized trial may never completely replace traditional virus neutrality trials, it works well and, in some cases, facilitates multi-angle studies of new coronal pneumonia on a larger scale..
