A private renewable energy company has reportedly announced a 300 MW wind energy park project
in the Coimbatore region.
It is understood that Hyderabad-based Mytrah Energy won the bid
.
Currently, wind turbines in Tamil Nadu have a low capacity of 1MW
of maximum power.
Since the windmills will rotate in both directions, the new installation will have a higher production capacity and will generate electricity
throughout the year.
According to the tender rules, the company will establish this
within 18 months.
The price of wind power has also dropped from three last year to the current 2.

Meanwhile, wind power in Tamil Nadu has recovered over the past two days, allowing Tangadco to maintain coal buffer stocks
