Maduo, meaning "the source of the Yellow River" in Tibetan, was established in December 1957

San Jiecai, director of Maduo County Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Science and Technology Bureau, introduced that the origin traceability project construction of yak, Tibetan and sheep in Maduo County includes the construction and training of farm collection points, township collection points, slaughtering and processing collection points, system integration and information entry.

"By wearing electronic ear tags for yaks and Tibetan sheep, we collect all the information into the Maduo County Animal Husbandry Quality and Safety Traceability System with B/S structure, and use RIFD and other technical means to record gender, breed, coat color, Weight, herdsmen, health status, epidemic prevention information, certification information, slaughtering and processing information, packaging information, etc.

Sanjie Cairang said that through the construction of the origin traceability project of yak, Tibetan sheep and sheep in Maduo County, not only can the whole process of animal products in Maduo County be inquired, but also the added value of products can be greatly enhanced, and the traceability of livestock products can be realized.
