SEOUL, Feb. 11 (Yonhap) -- As the number of home-drinking consumers in the affected areas increases, many wine companies are introducing new products such as low-level syringe and whisky.
South Korea, the world's largest foreign wine company Diageo, recently launched a low-level whisky "W By Windsor" for home-owned consumers, according to wine industry sources.
the company introduced whisky "W 19" and "W HONEY" in South Korea last July, and 35 degrees "W 17" and "W ICE" in November.
said W By Windsor was boosting household consumption under its Windsor brand, with W 19's fourth-quarter sales up 29 per cent month-on-month.
also launched the Spring Festival gift set, expanding the domestic product market.
addition, South Korean sake also showed a low-level trend.
Lotte Seven-star beverage last month reduced the alcohol content of its "first drink" sintered wine from 16.9 degrees to 16.5 degrees, making it the lowest-rated sake in the country.
, South Korea's largest sake maker, has also dropped from 17.8 degrees in 2018 to 16.9 degrees today.
wine industry predicted that the low-alcohol boom will continue for some time due to the trend of home-based drinking under the epidemic.
