Bangladesh's State Grid Corporation PGCB recently issued a statement saying that the 400 kV high-voltage transmission line connecting Payra to Gopalganj has been officially put into operation, with a total length of about 163 kilometers
    .

According to reports, this high-voltage transmission line is to transmit electricity
to the first unit of the new 1200MW Payra coal-fired power plant.

According to the original plan, the transmission line will be put into operation in the first half of 2019, but there have been several delays
    due to various reasons.

Bangladesh's State-Owned Electricity Company (EGCB) said: "Electricity from the Payra power plant will be provided
    through newly built transmission lines.

Due to the high capacity of the line, it will have the ability to transmit more electricity from other power plants to facilities
in the area in the future.

Khursedul Alm, managing director of North West Power Generation Limited (NWPGCL), said it would take 15 days to supply power
from Payra power plant once the transmission line was operational.
