A pet cat in Australia that is three times the size of a normal cat may soon be recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as "the world's longest cat," the New Zealand Herald reported on May 17.
it is understood that the three-year-old Maine-haired puntail, named Omar, now weighs 14kg and is 120cm long, while Ludo, the British cat that holds the record, measured only 118.33cm in October 2015.
owner, Steffi Hirst, said they had thought Omar might be the world's number one "long cat."
't think it could be true.
is understood to have been a "red cat" before, and its photos were uploaded to a cat account on social media, and then became a big hit.
Guinness World Records also contacted Hirst and told her Omar might break the world record.
eats two spoonfuls of cat food every morning and some raw kangaroo meat in the evening, mr. Hirst said.
, there doesn't seem to be anything special about diet.
, Omar may not have developed yet, meaning it could get longer.
