[China Epoxy Network (China Epoxy Industry Online)November 4, 2009: "my country is facing tremendous pressure to reduce carbon emissions, and the petrochemical industry has a lot to do.
" In late October At the 2009 Shaanxi Energy and Chemical Equipment Industry Development Forum and Investment Promotion Project Promotion Conference, Jin Yong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and dean of the Institute of Chemical Science and Technology of Tsinghua University, has high hopes for the role of the petrochemical industry in carbon emission reduction .
He said that due to the rapid economic development, people continue to "move" underground carbon to the ground, causing the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to continue to increase.
If it is not controlled, humans will be destroyed in their own hands.
In order to curb the impact of increasing carbon emissions on humans, the "Kyoto Protocol" clearly stipulates that by 2010, the emissions of six greenhouse gases including carbon dioxide in all developed countries will be reduced by 5.
    2% compared to 1990.
Although the US government is currently the only developed country that has not signed a contract, after President Obama took office, he has formulated ambitious energy-saving emission reduction and renewable energy development plans.
As the world's largest developing country and a major trading country with the United States, China must increase its carbon emissions reduction efforts, no matter from the establishment of a responsible image of a major country or the sustainable development of its own economy.
Jin Yong analyzes theoretically, there are three ways to develop a low-carbon economy and achieve carbon emission reduction: achieve source governance through the development of renewable energy; achieve energy conservation and emission reduction through process control; and achieve end governance through carbon dioxide capture and reuse.
From the perspective of factors affecting carbon emission reduction, it mainly includes total population, per capita GDP, energy consumption per unit of GDP, and carbon dioxide emitted per unit of energy consumption.
However, based on my country's current actual national conditions, among the four main factors, the total population, GDP per capita, and carbon dioxide emitted per unit of energy consumption are not conducive to carbon emission reduction.
Therefore, at present, there is only one factor that is more realistic and beneficial to China's carbon emission reduction: reducing energy consumption per unit of GDP.
Jin Yong revealed that my country has already mastered carbon capture, separation and purification technologies, and the technology in the field of comprehensive utilization of carbon dioxide is equivalent to the world's advanced level.
All these provide a way for my country to realize the utilization of carbon dioxide as a resource, scale-up utilization, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions Strong technical support.
