    [Preparation method] There are many methods for synthesizing salicylaldehyde.


    (1) Reimer Tiemann method using phenol as raw material

    The Reimer-Tiemann reaction was invented by K.

    (2) Synthesis method using o-cresol as raw material

    The preparation of salicylaldehyde with o-cresol as a raw material mostly adopts the method of hydrolyzing the side chain after chlorination to obtain the product


    (3) Electrochemical method using salicylic acid as raw material

    The electrolytic reduction of salicylic acid can produce salicylaldehyde, and the carboxyl group can be selectively reduced cathodely to obtain the aldehyde group by controlling the reaction conditions


    (4) Synthesis method using salicyl alcohol as raw material

    There are two main methods for preparing salicylaldehyde from salicyl alcohol as a raw material: salicyl alcohol liquid phase catalytic oxidation method and electro-oxidation method
