In 2021, 1,320 regenerative medicine clinical trials sponsored by the biomedical industry will be carried out globally, an increase of about 100 compared with the end of 2020.

Among these clinical trials, 243 are in the phase 3 clinical stage, reflecting the maturity of the regenerative medicine research and development pipeline.

It is worth mentioning that the Regenerative Medicine Alliance predicts that the number of innovative regenerative medicine therapies is expected to increase substantially in the next five years
