Recently, the Shanghai Petrochemical Research Institute led by Yizheng Chemical Fiber and Donghua University jointly undertaken a polyester and its product analysis and evaluation system research project passed the technical achievement appraisal organized by the Science and Technology Department of Sinopec Group
.
The appraisal expert group believes that the detection and analysis methods and control schemes developed by the project are innovative, and the overall technology has reached the international advanced level.
Among them, the analysis technology of PTA and coal-based glycol products has reached the international leading level.
It is recommended to further promote related analysis methods and standards.
And the scope of application of the evaluation system

For the first time, the project used ultra-high performance liquid chromatography/high-resolution mass spectrometry to develop an efficient PTA trace impurity structure identification technology, and identified a variety of key impurities that affect the chromaticity of PTA and polyester
.
The formed high-quality PTA quality control program was applied to the process improvement of the PTA production equipment of Yizheng Chemical Fiber, which significantly improved the quality of PTA products, helped Yizheng Chemical Fiber to produce high-quality optical films and became the first brand of optical films in China, creating better economic benefits
At the same time, the project uses gas-mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, ICP-MS and other methods to develop analysis methods for trace impurities in coal-based glycol, forming a coal-based glycol quality control program, which is applied to Hubei Fertilizer Syngas production ethylene glycol plant, coal-based ethylene glycol product quality meets the requirements of polyester production process control
.
During the implementation of the project, Yizheng Chemical Fiber and Donghua University established the only domestic short fiber spinnability evaluation platform and the first polyester fiber ecological safety VOCs testing platform and evaluation system, which promoted the technical level of China’s polyester industry.
