Product performance
Colorless transparent liquid; freezing point -77℃, boiling point 126.
1℃, relative density (d 4 15 ) 0.
8865, (d 4 25 ) 0.
8764, (d 4 30 ) 0.
8713, refractive index (n D 15 ) 1.
3964, (n D 30 ) 1.
3827; flash point 22°C; miscible with ethanol, ether and general organic solvents, but insoluble in water; has a special fruit aroma; has anesthetic and irritating effects, and is flammable
.
2.
Production principle
Under the catalysis of sulfuric acid , it is obtained by esterification with acetic acid and butanol , after separation and distillation
.

4.
Technical formula (kg/t)
5.
Main equipment
Esterification kettle (enamel), distillation kettle, condenser (2 sets), water separator (2 sets), storage tank
.
6.
Production process
Add 350kg of 98% acetic acid, 420kg of butanol, and 3.
5kg of concentrated H 2 SO 4 into a 1000L enamel esterification reactor, turn on the steam heating, and reflux when the temperature is raised to 120°C.
The water in the water separator is continuously discharged and refluxed for 3h
.
After adding a small amount of sodium carbonate to neutralize, distill the crude butyl acetate into the distillation kettle, continue to distill the crude esters in the kettle, and continuously separate the water layer in the water separator.
7.
Laboratory preparation method
(1) Put 80% acetic acid and butanol into a round bottom distillation flask, and then add 98% sulfuric acid with 0.
1% of the total material
.
Then the reaction is heated and refluxed, and the water produced by the reaction is separated by a water separator.
(2) In a round bottom flask equipped with a reflux condenser, put 37g (46mL) n-butanol, 60g (60mL) glacial acetic acid , and then add 2g concentrated H 2 SO 4 , and heat to reflux for 3-6 hours
.
The reaction mixture was poured into a separatory funnel previously filled with about 250 mL of water
