Recently, the 5 million kilowatt wind power project sent by the 80±0 kV UHVDC project from Jiuquan to Hunan passed the technical review
of the General Institute of Hydropower and Water Conservancy Planning and Design.
The external power supply of UHVDC project is composed of 7 million kilowatts of wind power and 2.
8 million kilowatts of photovoltaics, of which 5 million kilowatts of wind power is a new project, and the National Energy Administration approved the above construction plan
in June 2015.
UHV wind power projects are mainly distributed in Guazhou, Subei and Yumen, with an investment of nearly 40 billion yuan, the implementation of the project will effectively drive the new output value of equipment manufacturing industry and related supporting industries of about 32 billion yuan, which is of great significance
for promoting the transformation of energy resource advantages into economic advantages as soon as possible and promoting the sustainable and healthy development of Hexi clean energy base 。 In the next step, the Gansu Provincial Development and Reform Commission and the Provincial Energy Bureau will work with Jiuquan City, Jiayuguan Municipal Government and Gansu Electric Power Company to reasonably formulate the project development timing and control the construction rhythm according to the power consumption capacity of the receiving end market, so as to ensure the smooth progress and effective operation
of the transmission project and power supply project construction.
