The reporter learned from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs that China's modern seed industry has made important progress, and the proportion of high-quality rice varieties approved by the state has exceeded 60%
for the first time.

According to the relevant provisions of the Seed Law and the Measures for the Validation of Major Crop Varieties, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs recently announced the release of 1,384 new varieties
of rice, corn, cotton and soybeans approved by the Fourth National Crop Variety Validation Committee.
The quality of 281 rice varieties that passed the examination reached the national standard of grade 2 or above, accounting for more than 60% for the first time, which marked a new level of high-quality rice breeding in China
