The system connecting the Republic of Congo and Gabon is now operational
after Mamb Services completed the repair of a 500-kilometer fibre network between Pointe-Noire and Mbinda.

In January, Mamb Services was awarded a public service contract
for the management, operation and maintenance of the fibre optic network after the government pointed out a number of shortcomings in the deployment of the fibre optic network between the Republic of Congo and Gabon, including the non-use of protective sleeves and exposed cables.

Leon Juste Ibombo, Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital Economy of the Republic of Congo, commented: "The damaged parts were restored and the broken cables throughout the network were repaired, which made it possible
to establish the Pointe-Dorisi fiber optic system.

In 2015, the Republic of the Congo began deploying a fibre optic network connecting Pointe-Noire, Mbinda to the Gabonese border, starting in June 2015 as part of the second phase of the China-Africa backbone network plan, which was completed
    in March 2018.
