On September 14, 2021, by the Shanghai Institute of Nutrition and Health of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Children's Hospital, Shanghai International Human Phenotypic Research Institute and other research institutions, the work of drawing the peripheral blood single cell immune map of Kawasaki disease was completed , Published online in the international academic journal Nature Communications

Kawasaki disease (KD) is an acute systemic febrile disease.

In this study, researchers carried out a single-cell transcriptome study of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) of Kawasaki disease and normal children before and after immunoglobulin treatment, revealing that peripheral immune cells and their Dynamic changes in subtypes (Figure AC)

Further analysis of single-cell transcriptome data shows that monocytes are the main source of differentially expressed genes in PBMCs of Kawasaki disease, including many cytokines and drug targets that are up-regulated in Kawasaki disease, such as IgG receptors, IL1B, TNF, etc.

The drawing of the single-cell immune map of Kawasaki disease provides an important basis for in-depth understanding of the pathogenesis and treatment mechanism of Kawasaki disease, and also provides important data resources for further screening of diagnostic and prognostic markers, and even the identification of the pathogen of Kawasaki disease

Researcher Wang Zhenqing, Shanghai Institute of Nutrition and Health, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chief Physician Xie Lijian, Shanghai Children's Hospital, Researcher Ding Guohui, Shanghai Institute of International Human Phenotype Group, co-first author of this research paper, Wang Zhenqing, Shanghai Institute of Nutrition and Health, Chinese Academy of Sciences Researcher, Researcher Li Yixue and Professor Huang Min from Shanghai Children's Hospital are the co-corresponding authors
