Core Tip: Recently, the milk product quality and risk assessment science and technology innovation team of Beijing Institute of Livestock and Veterinary Research of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences made new progress in the study of the resistance of fake monocytobacteria in raw milk, and found that there are various clusters of resistance decisions and obtained resistance genes, which provide support for the safety risk assessment of raw milk quality. The findings are published in Frontiers in Microbiology.

according to the author of the article, Dr. Meng Wei, fake monocytobacteria is an important corrupt bacteria in raw milk, which can produce thermally stable extracellular peptide enzymes and lipases, resulting in corruption of raw milk. Fake monocytobacteria has a unique resistance mechanism, and has the ability to survive in the environment for a long time, easy to produce resistance risks, which is potentially harmful to human health, so it is necessary to assess the resistance of fake monocytobacteria in raw milk.
the researchers selected 11 86 strains of fake monocytobacteria for genomic analysis by 143 strains of fake monocytobacteria from 87 raw milk samples. The results showed that raw milk fake monocytobacterium had the highest resistance to methamphetamine (95.3%), followed by metformin-sulfonamide methyl isoprene (69.8%), ampicillin (60.5%), chloramphenicol (45.3%) and melopenan (27.9%). The index value of multi-antibiotic resistance of fake monocytobacteria ranges from 0.1 to 0.8. Genome-wide sequencing reveals more than 100 introviral resistance-determining clusters and resistance genes derived from other bacteria. In addition, prosthetic monocytobacteria drug-resistant nodding cell division and ATP binding box antibiotic discharge pumps were also found. This research uses whole genomics method to evaluate the resistance of fake monocytobacteria, which provides an important method for evaluating microbial resistance in raw milk.
the study was supported by special funds from the National Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Risk Assessment Project, the Science and Technology Innovation Project of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Modern Agricultural Industry Technology System.
