The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the State Administration for Market Regulation recently jointly issued a notice to start the selection of energy efficiency "leaders" in key energy-using industries in 2021
.

The selection scope includes iron and steel, coking, ferroalloys, electrolytic aluminum, copper smelting, lead smelting, zinc smelting, magnesium smelting, cement, flat glass, crude oil processing, ethylene, coal-to-olefins, synthetic ammonia, methanol, calcium carbide, caustic soda, soda ash, bismuth 20 industries including toluene and purified terephthalic acid
.

The applicant enterprise should meet the five requirements of an independent legal entity with an annual energy consumption exceeding 10,000 tons of standard coal, and the energy consumption per unit product reaching the advanced value of the national standard for energy consumption quota and being the industry-leading level
.
