Recently, the agricultural layout and regional development team of the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, analyzed the current situation and existing problems of the promotion of soil testing formula fertilization technology in China's grain producing areas, and revealed the hindrance force, influence mechanism and improvement path
of soil testing formula fertilization technology in the promotion process from the perspective of farmers.
    The results were published in
    Technological Forecasting & Social Change.

According to researcher Li Jianping, soil testing and formula fertilization technology is an environmentally friendly technology promoted by the United Nations, which can effectively alleviate agricultural non-point source pollution
    .
China has begun to promote soil testing and formula fertilization technology since 2005, but some farmers are not highly
    motivated to use this technology.

Based on the microscopic survey data of 681 grain growers, this study empirically analyzes the impact
of production uncertainty and social learning on farmers' soil testing and formula fertilization technology by using experimental economic methods.
It is found that farmers generally have a tendency to reject production uncertainty, which hinders the dissemination and adoption of soil testing formula fertilization technology, social learning can alleviate the information asymmetry and technology learning cost of farmers, and effectively improve their adoption behavior
of soil testing formula fertilization technology by improving the predictability of agricultural production 。 The theoretical mechanism affecting farmers' technology adoption was proposed and verified by using a large number of survey data.
The introduction of experimental economics into the research framework overcomes the drawbacks of inaccurate data survey caused by traditional questionnaire surveys, and provides decision-making basis
for government departments to formulate fertilizer reduction policies and environmental protection policies in grain-producing areas.

    The research was supported
by the National Modern Agricultural Industry Technology System and the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
