    Recently, Professor Li Junjie and Associate Researcher Zhang Hong of the School of Chemical Engineering of Tianjin University and the team of Professor Feng Shiqing of Tianjin Medical University have developed a polycarboxyloyl betaine microgel enhanced polysulfon betaine (pCBM/pSB) pure amphoteric ionic hydrogel coating


    According to reports, pCBM/pSB hydrogels have a unique two-phase structure, in which the sparsely cross-linked pSB polymer network acts as a continuous phase, which "locks" the entire hydrogel through strong electrostatic interactions between molecules to limit deformation


    Thrombosis and infection are major challenges


    The blood circulation PVC tube coated with pCBM/pSB hydrogel coating on the inner wall is assembled into a rabbit arteriovenous hemix blood circulation model, and the results of blood circulation for 2 hours show that in the case of no anticoagulant, the original PVC tube is severely blocked, and many adherent thrombotic masses are formed in the inner wall, while the PVC tube coated with pCBM/pSB hydrogel coating not only maintains a high patency, a small number of platelets and red blood cells are observed on the surface, and does not affect its coagulation and serum indicators
