The United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution on the 11th urging Member States to respond to the new crown epidemic by strengthening international cooperation and solidarity.
resolution said that international cooperation, multilateralism and solidarity are the only ways for the world to effectively respond to global crises such as the new crown epidemic, and called on all countries to adopt people-oriented, gender-oriented and full respect for human rights.
resolution supports the global ceasefire initiative put forward by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, is deeply concerned about the impact of the outbreak on areas of armed conflict and continues to support United Nations peacekeeping operations.
resolution urges Member States, including political and religious leaders, to promote inclusion and solidarity against racism, xenophobia, hate speech, violence and discrimination.
Resolution urges Member States to strengthen health systems and social care systems, urges Member States to commit themselves to providing all countries with timely access to quality, safe, effective and affordable diagnostic tools, treatments, medicines and vaccines, and encourages Member States to work with all relevant stakeholders to increase funding for research and development of vaccines and medicines, and to use digital technologies to strengthen the international scientific cooperation needed to combat the new coronavirus.
Resolution urges Member States and other stakeholders to promote bold and concerted action to address the immediate social and economic impact of the new crown outbreak, while working to get back on track to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and accelerate the full implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda through the development of recovery strategies to emerge from the crisis.
