The World Bank will provide a $150 million loan to Uzbekistan to upgrade the country's substation grid

According to the World Bank, the project will help Uzbekistan reach its goal
of becoming an industrially developed and upper-middle-income country by 2030.
It is reported that the loan will be used to repair 22 substations in 10 oblasts and Tashkent city to reduce the loss of electric energy in the transmission process and technical maintenance costs, purchase 110 kV mobile substations and disaster recovery systems to eliminate the impact of tripping of main transmission lines
