, deputy director of the Institute of Aquatic Biology, the 10,000 Progenotic Genome Project is the first large-scale genome sequencing program for the progeny community in the world. The program will complete the genome sequencing and analysis of approximately 10,000 progenitic organisms over the next three years, including all 26 categories/classes of progenitic organisms, covering more than 85 per cent of the species, 60 per cent of the species and 30 per cent of the genus, based on the more than 3,000 or so ethyrical algae and native vivid species quality resources held by the initiators.
To carry out the genome plan of 10,000 proto-living organisms will help to understand the major basic life science issues such as the mechanism of biodiversity formation, the origin and evolution of multicellular organisms/sexual reproduction, promote the interconnection of information on the national science and technology resource sharing service platform, and promote the excavation and application of protosomal mass transmission resources related to ecological environment protection, nutritional health and disease prevention and control.
