    Paralytic shellfish toxin is the most polluted marine biotoxin in the world and even China's offshore waters, and the food safety risks caused by it have attracted common attention from the international community, and are the focus of the United Nations GlobalHAB International Research Program and the new action plan of the "Ocean Decade"
    .
     
    Since the outbreak of mussel poisoning in Qinhuangdao in 2016, the formation mechanism and prevention and control technology innovation team of the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences has systematically studied the environmental drive, formation process and regulatory mechanism of paralytic shellfish toxin risk in Qinhuangdao sea area by using multidisciplinary methods and multi-omics techniques, and evaluated the consumption risk under the traditional mode in China, and preliminarily explored the whole chain and key risk control points of paralytic shellfish toxin risk in this sea area.
    It provides a research basis
    for the scientific construction of regional active prevention and control technology for paralytic shellfish toxin risk.
    The results have been published in
    journals such as Enviro nmental pollution, Environmental Research, Toxins and the Journal of Oceanology and Limnology.
     
    Haiyan Wu, associate researcher at the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute, presented papers on "Formation mechanism and environmental drivers of Alexandrium catenellabloom events in the coastal waters of Qinhuangdao, China" and "Variations in the toxicity" and condition index of five bivalve species throughout a red tide event caused by Alexandrium catenella: A field study, first author of Chenfan Dong, doctoral student Chenfan Dong, contributed to the paper "Trans criptome analysis reveals MAPK/AMPK as a key regulator of the inflammatory respo nse in PST detoxification inMytilus galloprovincialisandArgopecten irradians" and Thermal processing induced release and degradation of paralytic shellfish toxin from musselsMytilus edulis" first author, researcher Tan Zhijun is the corresponding author
