    Recently, the Dean of the John Hopcroft Computer Science Center of the School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Shanghai Jiaotong University, hired Associate Professor Zhao Shizhen’s team to make important progress in the design and optimization of the opto-electronic hybrid data center network architecture.

    Different from the electrical switching mechanism, the optical switching technology can only establish a one-to-one communication link between the entrance and the exit of the switch, but it is difficult to support one-to-many, many-to-one, and many-to-many communications

    This paper mainly studies how to design the interconnection method of optical switch (OCS) and ToR layer electrical switch, so that the final network architecture can reflect reliable network performance for different traffic modes


     Scalability and performance comparison of different optoelectronic hybrid network architectures

    In addition, in view of the difficult problems of the control and operation and maintenance of the existing optoelectronic hybrid data center, the project team also proposed feasible solutions in the work "TROD: Evolving From Electrical Data Center to Optical Data Center" published in ICNP 2021 in the previous period.
