There are 18 "Longevity Hometowns" in Guangxi

According to inspections, the 18 named "Longevity Towns in China" in Guangxi are all selenium-rich regions.

Previously, the Chinese Academy of Sciences conducted surveys and studies on the "Longevity Townships" such as Bama and Yongfu, and found that under the same natural environment such as air and water resources, the important reason for the large number of longevity elderly people is the selenium content in soil and food.

Selenium is an essential trace element for human body, which has functions of anti-oxidation and anti-aging.

At present, Guangxi has formulated and issued opinions on the development of selenium-enriched agricultural products, local standards for selenium-enriched agricultural products, established 46 selenium-enriched agricultural products production demonstration bases, and produced more than 30 products such as selenium-enriched fragrant rice, peanuts, and tea.
