Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women in the world.
Recently, associate researcher Xia Wei of Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences proposed a new method for non-invasive screening of cervical lesions by cross-modal fusion of cytology examination, HPV detection and colposcopy image examination results (as shown in Figure 1).
The subjects who underwent cervical lesion screening included 1718 cases of normal or low-grade lesions and 442 cases of high-grade lesions or cervical cancer
The results of the study showed that the accuracy rate of the comprehensive screening model based on cross-modal fusion reached 92.
The research was funded by the major scientific and technological innovation projects of Shandong Province, the National Natural Science Foundation of China and other projects, and the relevant results were published in the International Journal of Medical Informatics, the official journal of the International Association of Medical Informatics (paper link: https://doi.
