On November 18, Tongwei Solar Hefei planned to build the world's largest 5GW solar crystalline silicon cell project in Shuangliu County, Chengdu, and officially launched
    .
The project covers an area of more than 1,200 acres, employs nearly 10,000 people, and the first phase is expected to be completed and put into operation
    in July next year.
After the completion of the project, it will become one of the most automated crystalline silicon cell factories in the world, achieving annual sales revenue
of 25 billion to 30 billion.

Liu Hanyuan, member of the Standing Committee of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the board of Tongwei Group, pointed out that the selection of Shuangliu for this project was due to strategic layout considerations
    .
He said that after the completion of the project, it can radiate Ganzi, Aba, Liangshan Prefecture, Panzhihua in Sichuan, as well as Xinjiang, Gansu and other places in the west, which are the most suitable places
for the development of photovoltaic power plants.
The Hefei project can radiate the southeast coastal cities and vigorously promote the development of "fishery and solar integration", so that the two solar cell projects form a "dual core" and radiate the whole country
    .
