Toshiba Mitsubishi Electric Industrial Systems (TMEIC) has developed a new model
for large-scale power regulation systems (PCS) for megawatt (MW) photovoltaic power plants.
There are two products, the "SOLAR WARE 665E" with an output of 665kW and the "SOLAR WARE 750E"
with an output of 750kW.
Among the PCS that supports 1000V photovoltaic power generation systems, this is the first time in Japan that a mainframe
with an output power of more than 650kW has been launched.
The price of the 665kW product is 12.
7 million yen, and the price of the 750kW product is 13.
4 million yen.
The unit price per kW is about 19,100 yen and 17,900 yen, respectively, which is about 20% lower than the approximately 22,000
yen of the previous 500kW model (11 million yen).
For a 1.
5MW photovoltaic power plant, 3 units are installed when using the old 500kW model, while only 2 units are required for the new 750kW model, and the number of installations is only two-thirds
of the original.
In addition to the lower unit price per kW of PSC, the cost of peripherals such as transformers and installation can be reduced, so the cost of the entire system is expected to be further reduced
.
For renewable energy sources that account for a high proportion of equipment costs in the total cost of business, the initial investment per kW is reduced by increasing the output of each system, thereby improving profitability
.
Wind power plants are a typical example of this, and now the output of an onshore wind power plant has been expanded to 2MW, and the output of an offshore wind power plant has been expanded to about
7MW.
The PCS of MW-level photovoltaic power plants also has this trend, and it is estimated that the equipment capacity will continue to expand
