Toshiba has developed a lithium-ion battery for electric vehicles (EVs) that can be used for 320 km in just 6 minutes of charging, which is expected to improve the convenience of EVs and aims to be
put into practical use in fiscal 2019.
Toshiba has tried to make a product with a width of 11.
1 cm and a height of 19.
4 cm, which does not deteriorate even if it is charged and discharged 5,000 times, and can be quickly charged
in an environment of minus 10 degrees Celsius.
It has been reported that the anode material of current lithium-ion batteries mainly uses graphite, but the product developed by Toshiba uses titanium and niobium oxides, which can increase the volume capacity by 2 times, and can be charged with 5 times the current current, and can be fully charged with 90% of electricity in 6 minutes
.
Current lithium-ion battery products take about 30 minutes to fully charge 80% of the electricity
.
The report pointed out that theoretically, Toshiba's above-mentioned lithium-ion battery performance is expected to increase by another 30%, and Toshiba will continue to improve in the future, aiming to achieve battery products
that can make the vehicle travel 400km in 6 minutes of charging.
