Trelleborg's Applied Technologies business has launched a new portfolio of AMV Shield antimicrobial materials for use in polyurethane materials

Terry Cooper, general manager of Trelleborg's Applied Technologies business in Retford, UK, said: "Our portfolio of AMV Shield materials provides passive protection against the spread of infection

The AMV Shield material combines the use of specially prepared silver particles to embed antimicrobial nanoparticles into Trelleborg's polyurethane material

Cooper continued: "Materials made with AMV Shield will not leach into the environment, meaning they will last more than 25 years and be safe for food packaging and distribution.

AMV Shield is suitable for a variety of applications including handles and Handrails, packaging and boxes, protective covers and enclosures and even floor scrapers
