According to foreign media reports, the British mobile operator EE will open the UK's first 5G field trial network in East London in October 2018, realizing 5G connectivity
for EE customers and enterprises for the first time.
The trial will launch 5G service
at 10 locations around East London.
Five small businesses and five households will have the opportunity to try out the new technology
on 5G networks using prototype 5G broadband devices.
In the coming weeks, EE will use social media channels to find the UK's first 5G trialers

This field trial will demonstrate 5G's ability to provide the highest speed mobile data connections, including in the most densely populated urban environments

EE said 5G will provide a more reliable and responsive mobile internet connection, which will help the widespread use
of technologies including virtual reality and augmented reality in apps and various services.
EE hopes to deliver speeds
in excess of 1Gbps through the first test.
