Recently, researchers from Ningbo Materials Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences have developed an ultra-black and high-stability light absorption coating technology, which can be used to suppress the interference of stray light in optics and improve the efficiency of solar photothermal conversion.
The coating uses physical vapor deposition technology, can be coated on the surface of most commonly used materials such as metals, ceramics, polymers, and even on the surface of flexible polymer film, the coating binding force is high, the physical and chemical properties of the coating is stable, high hardness.
One of the researchers of this coating technology, Abdul Ghafar Wattoo, a Pakistani doctoral student studying at the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said the results were part of a study he participated in during his ph.D. studies in the Surface Protection Group of the Ningbo Institute of Materials of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, coated with TiAlN ternate ceramics, with light absorption covering near-infrared, visible and ultraviolet bands with a light absorption rate of more than 95%
China
. The coating has a delicate nanostructure, the bottom layer structure, is conducive to improving its adhesion on a variety of substation materials, the middle is a column structure, the column interface of multiple reflections to absorb the energy of light, the top is a conical structure, conducive to the introduction of incoming light, but the preparation method is very simple.
This light absorption coating has a light absorption coefficient of more than 95% in the wavelength range of 200nm to 2500nm, covering near-infrared, visible and ultraviolet, with the widest wavelength absorption rate in existing ceramic light absorption coatings. Due to the low cost of coating preparation and stable physical and chemical properties, it can be widely used in optical instrument stray light control, energy conversion and other fields in the future. The results of this work were published in Journal of Materials Chemistry C, 2018, 6, 8646-8662, Solar Energy, 2016, 138, 1-9. The technology has been declared invention patent 2 CN201210063873.8, DD180138I.
