    Sinochem News Network reported on September 30 that Albemarle stated on Thursday that it agreed to acquire Guangxi Tianyuan New Energy Materials Co.


    Albemarle stated that the acquisition of Tianyuan, headquartered in Guangxi, China, will expand its lithium production capacity and increase its lithium processing capacity in China near Qinzhou Port


    Albemarle said that Tianyuan’s business includes the recently built lithium processing plant near the port with a designed annual conversion capacity of 25,000 tons.


    Albemarle said it expects to complete the acquisition in early 2022
