According to Bloomberg, in the second quarter of 2020, the production of renewable aviation fuel in the United States jumped to more than 1 million gallons, almost double the production of the same period last year and four times
the production in the first quarter of 2020.

Despite poor performance in the first quarter, with biofuel jet production at its lowest level in five years, 2020 is expected to grow by 30%
    at 2019 levels.

The supply of other types of biofuels, including biodiesel, declined
in the second quarter due to lower demand for road fuels.
But despite the disruption caused to the aviation industry by Covid-19, biojet production has remained resilient
    .
This may be because the offtake agreement between the airline and the producer will come into effect
    this year.
    Fulcrum Bioenergy Inc.
, for example, has reached an agreement to supply fuel
to AirBP and Cathay Pacific starting in 2020.

A growing number of airlines and airports are partnering with producers to secure biojet fuel supplies, including with Delta Air Lines and Neste,
which supplies sustainable aviation fuel to San Francisco Airport.
