Vestas has partnered with EDPR to install hybrid oscilloscopes for wind and solar photovoltaics for wind farms
.
The program is part of EDPR's R&D strategy, and Vestas is constantly working to provide sustainable energy solutions to meet the growing needs of its customers to balance energy supply with grid demands
.
EDPR is a global leader in renewable energy and one of the world's largest producers of wind energy, and Vestas, a global leader in wind energy, has built a turbine-coupled hybrid demonstrator
with solar energy at the Janda III wind farm in Cadiz.
The hybrid demonstrator is existing
A combination
of Vestas V112-3.
0 MW steam turbine and 372 kW of new solar photovoltaic (PV).
Photovoltaic power generation is supplied to turbines in the form of direct current, which is then converted and converted by the turbine's dedicated improved power conversion system in order to output electricity to the grid
.
By combining wind and photovoltaics, the demonstration project provides a higher capacity factor and annual energy production
.
The company explores a way to incorporate sustainable energy to meet the energy industry's demand
for sustainable energy production and better integration with the energy grid.
The demonstrator is a close fit between Vestas and EDPR? As a result, EDPR has turbines and photovoltaic arrays
.
For this project, Vestas has upgraded the specifications of the wind turbine controller, converter and design as well as the new hardware
installed.
Connected via the power electronics of the fan and solar through the wind turbine and utilizing its full-size converter, the number of converters is reduced, helping to reduce equipment costs and thus energy costs
.
Vestas' Senior Vice President of Innovation and Concepts added, "This project demonstrates the collaboration between Vestas and EDPR and how wind and solar energy can further reduce energy costs and achieve stable energy production
through complementarity.
As the market absorbs more renewable energy in the future, these learnings will accelerate our strategy
to integrate and combine renewable energy.
”
EDP?? "The development and operation of this demonstrator provides an opportunity
to test some of our assumptions for future hybrid power plants," said R's technical director.
In addition, it gives us the opportunity to work closely with Vestas to explore synergies
between wind and solar technologies.
This EDPR-driven project fits very well with our R&D strategy
.
Research within the Sustainable Energy Framework has always been part of
the company's DNA.
