Vestas has secured an order
for a 99 MW wind project from a joint venture between Rusnano and Fortum.
Located in the Rostov region, the project will include 26 V126-3.
45 MW turbines, delivered
in a 3.
8 MW power-optimized mode.
It is understood that the order is the third order in the framework agreement that Vestas has reached with Rusnano and Fortum to provide wind energy solutions
for projects in Russia.
Following the recent installation of a 50 MW wind power project in Ulyanovsk and a 198 MW order awarded to Vestas in December 2018, the project in the Rostov region will increase Vestas' footprint in the country with a total capacity of nearly 350 MW
.
As part of the project, Vestas and its partners will create local jobs and expand the Russian wind energy industry
through its strong local manufacturing and supply capabilities, including blade and tower plants and nacelle assembly lines.
"This order re-underscores our market leadership in the Russian wind market and demonstrates how, together with our local partners, we can continue to strengthen the world's fourth largest electricity market in the renewable energy sector
," said the President of Vestas, Northern and Central Europe.
”
It was revealed that the wind power contract includes the supply, installation and commissioning
of wind turbines.
Delivery and installation of the turbine is expected to begin
in the third quarter of 2019.
