    Denmark's Vestas has said it has been selected as the turbine supplier of choice for the 1.
    2 GW Baltic Power project, one of the first offshore wind farms in Poland and expected to come online
    in 2026.

    Baltic Power is a joint venture
    between Polish refiner PKN Orlen and Canada's Northland Power In (TSE:NPI).
    It will be equipped with 76 V236-15.

    "We want to use the knowledge and experience gained in the Baltic Power power project to implement further investments
    in the Baltic Sea.

    To date, Vestas has installed more than 3.

    Northland President and CEO Mike Crawley said the turbine selection is an important milestone as construction of the project begins in 2024

    In a separate announcement, Baltic Power said it had also signed reservation agreements
    with suppliers for export cables and onshore substations for wind farms.

    Danish cable manufacturer NKT will design and produce offshore export cables, while the onshore portion of the inter-array cable and export cable will be supplied
    by Poland's TELE-FONIKA Kable and JDR Cable Systems.
    TELE-FONIKA Kable will also be responsible for the onshore part of the transportation and installation of cables
    .
    All offshore cables will be transported and installed
    by DEME.

    A consortium of GE and Polish power construction company ENPROM will be responsible for delivering the onshore substation
    .

    The Baltic Power wind farm will be located about 23 kilometers off the Choczewa and Leva
    coasts.
    Once operational, it is expected to provide enough power
    to more than 1.
    5 million homes.
