In the first 10 months of 2022, Vietnam's fish exports exceeded US$2.
2 billion, making it one of
the highest exports in the agricultural industry.
It is expected that the national fish export volume will exceed 2.
    5 billion US dollars in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 58%.

At the beginning of 2022, the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and global inflation threatened many economic industries, but this also brought opportunities to Vietnam's fish export industry, because this fish is moderately priced and is Vietnam's export advantage
    .
According to statistics, most markets have increased the import of Vietnamese cha fish by 40% to 200%.

At present, the two largest markets for Vietnam's Cha fish exports are China and the United States, accounting for 30% and 23%
    of total exports respectively.

Vietnam's exports to China continued to recover
    strongly.
As of the end of October this year, Vietnam's exports to China reached US$647 million, an increase of 110%
    year-on-year.
The average price of frozen fish fillets in the Chinese market was US$2.
    45/kg, 64%
higher than the same period last year.

Vietnam has also used tariffs, geography and other factors to significantly increase exports
to the markets of Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) member countries and some Asian markets.

Vietnam's exports to Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and Chile all grew by triple digits, from 108% to 166%.

Up to now, there are more than 400 fish export enterprises in Vietnam, and most of them have increased their fish sales compared with the same period last year, mainly due to the increase
    in export prices.
Based on this growth trend, Vietnam's fish exports are expected to reach US$2.
    5 billion in 2022, up 58%
    year-on-year.

Le Yong, head of the public relations department of the Vietnam Aquatic Products Processing and Export Association (VASEP), said that China's fishery industry has been affected by the "zero new crown" policy, and production has decreased, prompting the country to increase imports of aquatic products to make up for the lack
of domestic consumption and export processing.
Therefore, this year and next, China will remain the main and potential market
    for Vietnamese fish.
Industry experts believe that in order to achieve the goal of exporting more than US$2.
5 billion of fish by 2022, Vietnam needs to introduce supporting measures and make full use of its advantages
    .
Vietnam's Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Feng Dejin said that Vietnam's fish industry should make full use of local raw materials and produce in the direction of circular economy, strive to solve the bottleneck of enterprise development, and at the same time strengthen negotiations and consultations, continuously expand the market, use the benefits of free trade agreements to promote exports, establish a brand image, promote deep processing, and achieve export goals
    .
