According to data from SeafoodMedia on October 12, data from the Vietnam Association of Aquatic Products Exporters and Producers (VASEP) showed that Vietnamese pangasius exports to Brazil in the first eight months of this year exceeded 64 million US dollars, second only to China, the United States and Mexico

In the first five months of this year, Vietnamese pangasius exports to Brazil continued to decline, reaching a low of US$3.

year-on-year.

In the first seven months of this year, Brazil imported 164,000 tons of seafood, worth $791 million, of which major products such as pollock, pangasius and tilapia accounted for 23% of the total and 21%
of imports.

Brazil imports 46% of Vietnamese white fish and 33% of its value, and due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the number of cod products entering the Brazilian market is becoming less and less, and compared with cod, Vietnamese pangasius is more affordable and more in line with the taste
of Brazilian consumers.
