(NDO) On January 8, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Phu Thou Province, Vietnam, with the People’s Committee of Duanxiong County and Luan Jinheng Organic Agriculture Technology Joint Stock Company jointly held a ceremony to export the first batch of Duanxiong pomelo
to the Russian market .

In order to ensure the smooth export of pomelo to the Russian market, Duanxiong County has cooperated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Phu Thou Province to guide the Yuntun Township Pomelo and Comprehensive Service Cooperative to select and supply qualified pomelo products with traceable labels to buyers
.

This is an important event, opening a new stage, a new market and a new future for the grapefruit and pomelo farmers in Duanxiong County
.
Duanxiong County hopes that more pomelo buyers will participate in the production process in the future, thereby making a positive contribution to creating a stable sales market for Duanxiong County's specialty pomelo and other agricultural products and gradually forming a value chain
.

Nguyen Thanh Hai, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phu Thou Province, hoped that Luan Jinheng Organic Agriculture Technology Joint Stock Company will continue to work closely with the authorities of Duanxiong County and other pomelo-growing counties to realize the connection of production, processing and sales, and to expand the export of pomelo to other markets in the world
.

A total of 36,000 pomelos were exported to the Russian market, with a total weight of 40 tons
.
The exported pomelos all meet the Vietnamese Good Agricultural Practice (VietGAP) standards, are organically produced, and use bio-fertilizers and bio-protectants
.
This event is of great significance, making pomelo a rich crop in Duanxiong County, and it is also a good opportunity for Duanxiong pomelo products to enter the international market

It is reported that Duanxiong pomelo has obtained the geographical indication certification and won the title of "Agricultural Gold Brand" three times
.

In addition to retail and wholesale, Duanxiong pomelo is currently sold on e-commerce platforms, making an important contribution to introducing this product to consumers across the country
