Wang Lu: Qingchuang first proposed that pesticide manufacturers should take the initiative to assume social responsibility for environmental protection.
Editor's note: On March 9, 2021, a seminar on pesticide plastic packaging recycling and plastic film residue pollution prevention and control was held in Beijing through online and offline methods
    .
The meeting recommended that relevant departments strengthen the publicity and education of pesticides and agricultural chemicals, improve farmers' drug use level while raising their awareness of environmental protection; establish a centralized agricultural waste treatment department to treat them harmlessly; develop and produce pesticides , The whole process of sales and use implements strict supervision and effective management
    .
The following is the speech of Mr.
Wang Lu from Qingchuang Ecological Studio, to share with you
    .
Editor’s note/Darcy review/Mavis, Youth Creative Editor/Apple Thank you to the host and Secretary-General Zhou for his support to our Youth Ecological Studio for doing this, and also to all the experts, entrepreneurs and industry associations who participated in this conference.
    Leaders
    .
First of all, before I speak, I want everyone to watch a short video.
This is some of the videos we surveyed last year and the first two months of this year.
We made a small clip for it, including many provided by our volunteers.
These are some videos taken by front-line volunteers during their holidays, as well as some materials we surveyed last year.
    Please take a look
    .
Thanks to the director for helping us put up a shocking video, we should be in early 2020, when the garbage classification research work was carried out in Hebei
    .
When we walked to the fields, we found a large amount of pesticide packaging waste, and a lot of land where agricultural mulch film was discarded.
At that time, we felt that this problem was particularly serious, and we had a special in-depth discussion with the local farmer sister who was operating.
    Exchange
    .
I asked her, how should you put out your pesticide wastes when they are used up? They said that there is no special requirement, and when they are used up, they are discarded on the spot, or they are thrown into a garbage place near their home
    .
I asked if there is a professional person to recycle it? The eldest sister said that there is no special recycling, and they are all handled by themselves
    .
The eldest sister said that she had just come out of the hospital two days ago and had been given pesticides.
Because there were so many pesticides scattered in the house, a lot of harmful substances were produced after the rain was volatilized, and the eldest sister got sick
    .
I thought this was a ridiculous and irritating thing at the time.
Why didn't I handle the pesticides I used properly and poured my own medicine, but this is not a special case
    .
During our investigation, we also found that most of the pesticides currently used in our country are about 70% of organophosphorus pesticides, and 70% of organophosphorus pesticides contain highly toxic substances
    .
In the residues, you can see these pictures.
There are a lot of residues left in the bottles.
If they are not properly treated and recycled, it will not only cause great damage to our soil, rivers, and our environment.
The pollution caused by pollution will cause great harm to us human beings
    .
    Dr.
Zhou also said just now that our recycling and reuse of these pesticide wastes is a particularly serious problem
    .
Therefore, we later visited a large number of companies, especially pesticide manufacturers.
For example, in Hebei and Shandong, we investigated and visited many small pesticide manufacturers and some recycling companies
    .
Nowadays, some problems faced by recycling companies, one is the responsibility of recycling, and the second is the problem of recycling treatment and recycling management
    .
Because pesticides are toxic and harmful substances, in the process of recycling pesticide bottles, the treatment method is different from ordinary garbage sorting bottles.
It needs to carry out strict removal of toxic and harmful substances, and then sort them
    .
So at present, there is no relatively professional institution and factory to deal with and manage it
    .
Second, we discovered during the investigation that, although our country has clearly written laws and regulations for pesticide manufacturers, manufacturers must have certain recycling responsibilities for the pesticide waste they produce, but it seems that the laws and regulations are in place.
Local implementation is not very good.
Many companies can say that they have failed to meet the national requirements and regulations to recycle and reuse the pesticide waste they manufactured
    .
In the case of Monsanto, the German Bayer acquired Monsanto in the previous two years.
Because of their inadequate treatment of pesticide pollution and pesticide waste, they were sued by American farmers in court, and they responded accordingly.

    .
As such a multinational pesticide company, in fact, a large number of their factories for the manufacture of pesticides are built in my country and Southeast Asia.
my country and Southeast Asia are also the largest markets for pesticides in the world.

    .
    Take Hebei as an example.
In 2020, the sown area of winter wheat in Hebei Province will reach 33.
945 million mu, which is basically a rotation of corn and wheat
    .
Based on this calculation, the cultivation of wheat and corn in Hebei Province alone will produce 250 million pesticide packaging wastes.
Are these large pharmaceutical companies responsible for recycling these wastes? When their economic interests are met, are they obliged to take corresponding corporate responsibilities for our Chinese people and our country’s environmental protection? It now seems worthy of further discussion
    .
For such enterprises, we also hope that they can use it as a corporate social responsibility to help our country and help us solve the problem of environmental protection
    .
After a year of visits, we not only did front-line field investigations, and successively went to Xinjiang, Northeast, Hebei, Shandong and other places to conduct field investigations, but also conducted visits and unannounced visits to manufacturing companies and small recycling companies.
, We have also harvested a lot of evidence and retained some materials.
We will organize relevant information in the follow-up, and we will prosecute related illegal acts together with the Green Association.
We will also put forward some corresponding suggestions to the local management department.
I hope they can Together to deal with pesticide waste pollution problems
    .
Although we have been doing related work, I think it is still far from enough.
We still need a lot of help from experts, companies and related social organizations
    .
Finally, I would like to thank the China Green Development Association and the leaders of the meeting for their support.
I hope that in the future investigation work, we can join hands to further the pollution of pesticide waste and mulch film.
    Thank you everyone
