The Creamid® P-Series products from Teknor Apex, a US-based manufacturer of custom plastic compounds, absorb water at a lower rate than typical PA6, so they retain their physical properties well after humidity conditioni.
Creamid® P-Series polyamide 6 (PA 6) compounds absorb nearly 1/3 less water at saturation than typical PA6, resulting in 15-25% improved wet tensile properties and exhibit higher flow properties and better surface properties, even in higher glass-filled formulatio.
Teknor Apex Company will be presenting these compounds at K 2019 (Hall 6, Booth C58-0
The Creamid P series, designed by Teknor Apex, is the latest in a family of high-performance specialty polyamides for use in structural parts that replace meta.
Based on advanced formulation technology, Teknor Apex has been able to reduce the water absorption of various polyamide 6 and 6/66 compounds, including various glass/mineral reinforcements, impact resistant materials, flame retardant materials and other specialty compoun.
In addition, based on an advanced thermal stabilization system, Creamid P series compounds retain excellent physical properties under prolonged high temperature conditio.
At K 2019, the company will initially launch two Creamid P compounds with 30% and 50% glass fiber conte.
After 24 hours of humidity conditioning, these compounds absorb approximately 80% less water and approximately 30% less saturated water than typical polyamide
Markus Krippner, Director of New Business Development ETP, said: "In the past, PA 6 compounds were not suitable for certain structural applications due to their high water absorption, but now the Creamid P series of compounds have significantly improved wet tensile properties, so they can be meet the requirements of these applicatio.
In spiral fluid flow tests, these new compounds exhibited higher flow than typical polyamide 6, but with similar levels of mold shrinkage, allowing them to be processed with existing equipment and mol.
Compounds in the Creamid P series are available worldwi.
Teknor Apex Company, a privately held company founded in 1924, has become one of the world's leading manufacturers of custom plastic compoun.
The company is headquartered in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, USA, and has thirteen manufacturing facilities around the world in the United States, Belgium, Germany, China and Singapo.
