Turbidity is an expression of the optical properties of a water sample.

    1.

With the advancement of science, water turbidity measurement methods have been continuously improved and perfected.

    (1) Transmission turbidity meter (including spectrophotometer and visual method)

    (2) Scattering turbidity meter

    (3) Scattering-transmission turbidity meter

Among the above three methods, the scatter-transmission turbidimeter is better, with high sensitivity, and the chromaticity in the water sample does not interfere with the measurement.

Combining the actual situation of our country and the need for water quality analysis technology to be in line with international standards, according to the requirements of the technical progress and development goals of the water supply industry, the turbidity measurement instrument should be planned to replace the transmission turbidity meter and the specific light in the turbidity measurement instrument.

    2.

Regarding the turbidity standard liquid, the Jiateng (Forma) turbidity standard liquid has been determined as the standard liquid for turbidity measurement in China's water supply industry, and it will be implemented from January 1, 1994

In the turbidity measurement, due to the difference of the diatomite standard, the difference between the diatomite standard and the formazin standard, and the difference in the measurement results of the same water sample among the three measurement methods, the results are incomparable.

    NTU-L degree formazin, transmission measurement

    NTU-R Formazine, Scattering Determination

STU-L degree diatomite standard, transmission measurement

STU-R degree diatomite standard, scattering measurement

Regarding the use of formazan turbidity standard solution and other related issues, please refer to the "Standard Test Method for Drinking and Drinking Law" (GB/T5750-2006).
