This week, Westinghouse will hold talks
with the Indian government on an agreement to build six nuclear reactors in Andhra Pradesh.
Westinghouse hopes that the agreement
will eventually be implemented.
It is understood that Westinghouse will reduce its role in the supply of nuclear technology, allowing construction
to be carried out by appropriate Indian enterprises.
In addition, it will report to the Indian government on the current situation, including loans with the Export-Import Bank of the United States and procurement of parts from Japan and South Korea
.
In 2017, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Washington, Westinghouse decided to cooperate with Indian companies to build six nuclear reactors
in Andhra Pradesh.
On January 4, 2018, Westinghouse Electric Company, a global leader in nuclear power technology, fuel and services, has agreed to acquire
Brookfield Business Partners L.
P.
and its partner organizations (collectively, "Brookfield") for approximately $4.
6 billion.
The purchase price includes all of Westinghouse Electric's worldwide business and its subsidiary debtors and debtor-held assets (collectively, "Westinghouse"), excluding cash, but including certain pension, environmental and other operating obligations
