WHO: Mutated new coronavirus naming avoids contact with specific geotagings

GENEVA, Jan. 15 (Xinhua Liu Qu) The World Health Organization (WHO) announced the results of some meetings of the Emergency
Conference on the 15th, including the new crown outbreak still constitutes a "public health emergency of international concern", urging the development of a standardized system to name the mutant new coronavirus and avoid linking the virus to specific geographical indications.
The Director-General has regularly reconvened emergency
meetings to review the situation since 30 January 2020, when WHO declared the new outbreak a "public health emergency of international concern", according to the International Health Regulations.
the Sixth Meeting of the National People's Congress on January 14 this year, saying that the new crown outbreak continues to constitute a "public health emergency of international concern".
the meeting focused on the mutant new coronavirus, international travel-related health measures, new crown vaccine and so on. On the issue of mutated new coronavirus,
urged the development of a standardized system to name newly discovered mutant viruses, stressing that links between viruses and specific geotaging should be avoided.recommended that WHO leaders develop guidelines aimed at reducing the spread of new coronavirus associated with international travel.
will consider that there are still unknown factors regarding the role of new crown vaccines in reducing the spread of the virus and that vaccine availability is limited, and recommends that countries do not use vaccination or immunization certificates as entry conditions for international travel. Even if vaccination is proven, international travellers should comply with other measures to reduce the risk of travel.also recommended that WHO develop digital documentation standards on the status of new crown vaccinations in coordination with stakeholders.
the need to promote equitable vaccine distribution and technology transfer to increase global vaccine production capacity through the WHO-led COVAX programme.
strongly encourage vaccine manufacturers to quickly provide WHO with safety and ability data to include vaccines on emergency use lists.
