Victoria's 50MW Gannawarra Solar Park has reportedly completed construction
of 25MW/50MW Tesla power unit batteries.
The Gannnawarra energy storage system is owned by Edify Energy and Wirsol Energy Ltd, which is part of
    Wircon in Germany.

At a press conference on Monday, Wirsol said construction of the battery storage facility had been completed ahead of schedule, while its Gannawarra solar park had passed all commissioning tests and is now operating
    at full capacity.

The solar power plant, which has a direct current (DC) capacity of 60 megawatts, was connected to the grid in April, and the Tesla Powerpack battery that will be connected to it will be the first storage system
to be retrofitted to an existing solar farm.

Separately, Wirsol said it has produced the first batch of electricity from Victoria's 110 MW DC Wemen solar park, which is expected to be fully operational
    by the end of 2018.
With its 319,000 photovoltaic (PV) modules, the plant is regarded as the largest of its kind in Victoria
    .

Wirsol internally revealed that all of these projects will help the state aim to reach 25 percent renewable electricity use by 2020 and 40 percent
    by 2025.
