The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) released a report on the 27th, stating that the number of wild animals in the world has been reduced by nearly 60% in more than 40 years due to human activities

WWF cited the "Life on Earth Index" issued by the Zoological Society of London and pointed out that between 1970 and 2012, the number of wild mammals, birds, fish, amphibians and reptiles decreased by 58%

"Wild animals are disappearing in our time at an unprecedented rate," said Mark Lambertini, the global director general of WWF

"It's not just about the species we like.

The "Living Earth Index" is a tool to measure biodiversity, which is cited in the "Living Earth Report" published by WWF every two years
