    On May 23 , the research team of Tian Rui from the Molecular Imaging and Translational Medicine Research Center of our hospital published a research paper entitled " A genetic engineering strategy for editing near-infrared-II fluorophores " in Nature Communication.


    Mechanism of editing near-infrared second-region fluorescent probes based on genetic engineering strategies

    Near-infrared second region ( NIR-II , emission wavelength 1000-1700nm ) imaging is the research frontier and leading technology of fluorescence imagi.


    In the early stage, the research team accidentally discovered that cyanine dyes and serum albumin ( HSA ) can self-assemble and produce several times of fluorescence enhancement, and applied it to NIR-II imagi.


    Based on this discovery, the team further studied the binding mechanism and process of cyanine dyes and HS.


    Cl-dye undergoes nucleophilic substitution reaction with HSA variant Cys476 and forms a fluorescence-enhanced probe

    Researcher Tian Rui of our school is the first author and corresponding author of the paper , Yanbao Yu (now at the University of Delaware) from the J Craig Venter Institute in the United States , Professor Zhu Shoujun from Jilin University, and Professor Chen Xiaoyuan from the National University of Singapore are the joint correspondents of the paper autho.
